By awesome deeds You answer us in righteousness, God of our salvation, You who are the trust of all the ends of the earth and the farthest sea; Who establishes the mountains by His strength, Who is encircled with might; Who stills the roaring of the seas, The roaring of their waves, And the turmoil of the nations. They who dwell at the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs; You make the sunrise and the sunset shout for joy.
Psalm 65:5–8 (NASB)
Sometimes I write down a short verse or phrase to review before I set out for my morning walk. I found the this section of scripture highly invigorating:
By awesome deeds You answer us in righteousness, God of our salvation . . .
You make the sunrise and the sunset shout for joy.
By the time I got to, “You make the sunrise and the sunset shout for joy,”
I felt like shouting right along with them—probably did.
In fact—I did. 🙂
Truly our Father answers us, with awesome, over-the-top deeds all day long.
The answer is always clothed in righteousness, to heal the heart and renew the soul. Christ lived there, so hard for us, but the answer will always be there when we ask.
May your day be blessed!
Beautiful thoughts! I too have shouted, sang and cried on many of my walks in praise of Gods goodness! Thanks Phil
Amazing words and thoughts that are so easy to miss as we read the Psalms. Thanks Phil.
