Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
Luke 10:20
In Luke 10, Jesus sent some disciples out to preach and heal people. They came back rejoicing at the results of their new power. In verse 11, Jesus tells them that, instead of rejoicing in the power and authority they were given that allowed them to do those things, they should rejoice that their names were “recorded in heaven.”
Their Names Were Recorded in Heaven!
Sometimes we can focus so much on the activities going on in front of our eyes—and they may be good, honorable activities—that we lose sight of what a miracle it is that God has a record in heaven of those who follow Him!
What an amazing thing to meditate on for a few minutes. If you’re a follower of Jesus, your name is recorded in heaven.
This is worth rejoicing over any day.
How easy it is to get caught up in the cares of this life! Thanks for the reminder that our names are recorded in heaven. That is a wonderful thing to think about!
One of the most awesome things to me is to imagine Jesus saying hello to me, and maybe he won’t have to ask my name.
Thanks Jessica! Very good thing to remember and think upon!
Thanks for this!
