Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
1 John2:6
In this time of lockdown with Covid 19 there is great fear and uncertainty. The advantage of walking in truth as it is in Jesus is that we can have peace and strength to endure this. This advantage is meant to be shared with others—those who see us walking in faith, those who so badly want to enjoy the same inner peace.
Isaiah 26:3–4 tells us, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”
This trust doesn’t mean no harm will come to us, it means we can have confidence and peace in knowing no everlasting harm will come. Our trust is in our “forever” Lord and in our “everlasting” rock.
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand. The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever.
Psalm 37:23–24,29
Our goal for the future is to walk—eternally serving King Jesus—on planet earth. Today, can I walk in a way that shows peace, strength, and my faith in the wonderful future God has promised?
It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.
2 John 4
