Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
(John 21:21-23)
Sometimes our prayers are answered immediately. Sometimes they are answered over a period of time. In John 11, Lazarus’s family prayed for his recovery from illness. He did recover but not before he died first. Then Jesus restored him to life. Jesus did exactly what Lazarus’s family prayed for—he restored Lazarus to health. But he did it God’s way and in God’s time.
As a result, many more people were impacted and came to believe.
God’s answers to our prayers may sometimes seem slow because He is doing so much more with the situation than we realize.
