The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty of our God.
Isaiah 35:1–2
Deserts are big, flat and mostly boring. You drive for miles and miles without a change of scenery. Some people like the solitude and quietness, but most find them unattractive.
The Middle East has a lot of desert, and is not often noted for its beauty. But, God has plans to change all that. God promised to Ezekiel that Israel would be restored in the last day, and Jerusalem established as the capital of God’s Kingdom on earth.
The desert shall rejoice and blossom as it sees the glory of the Lord.
The same is true for each one of us. No matter how bleak, barren and forlorn your life may appear, God has plans to redeem you and make you blossom.
Answer His call. It’s time for rejoicing!
I’ve always thought about how wonderful the world will be when God returns it to an Eden-like state. But I never really pieced together the idea of how our character will be changed to fit the new order. That we will be part of the blossoming. As Isaiah 45 says, He created the world to be inhabited. Thanks, Jeff!
I can’t wait for that wonderful day to come. Thanks for the reminder that it will happen, Jeff.
Beautiful message Jeff, thank you!!
The ransomed of God shall return to Him with a chorus of joy, to a gladsome lay;
no eye with a tear of grief shall be dim, for sorrow and sighing shall flee away !
Resurrection day!
Thank you for this positive message!
