I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
Psalm 27:13–14
These verses remind me to be patient, and to live in a mindful way so that I can slow down and “see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Instead of rushing around on my schedule-dictated day, I remind myself to take time to stop and wait; and I will see the Mighty One’s goodness in my day.
I can see goodness in the cloud formation as they float in front of the sun, or in the tiny eyelashes on my grandson’s eyes, or in the sunlight dancing on the lake reflecting like diamonds, and also in the kind gesture of the my neighbor.
I think that to “wait for the LORD” is an important principle. This is indicated by the repetition in the verse. I can wait and see the goodness of the LORD in my actions: my kindness to others. Have you seen God’s goodness today? Have you shown it?
Thanks for this important reminder.
