The sheep recognize his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
John 10:3 (MSG)
Shhhh, do you hear that? Listen! That voice—it’s the shepherd! He’s calling me!
There he is! Oh, good, he sees me. He knows I am coming, that I am ready to follow him. He has a big smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye when he pats me on the head and calls me by my name. He knows me, and he loves me.
What an incredible blessing.

I follow a goat/sheep farmer on TikTok who does LIVES in the morning from his farm ( we get to sit and drink coffee with him and watch the NM sunrise if you want) and then he goes to feed the orphan lambs by bottle…he walks towards the pen and starts calling them from pretty far away, and they leap and bound and bleat towards him- you can’t help but get a smile on your face to watch that trust and bond! It’s a great picture to keep in mind that that kind of love is bestowed on us too!
I love how you wrote this as though it was written for you … because it was!!
It is so powerful to read God’s message to us in a personal way.
Thanks, Nancy! 🙂
Becky that is priceless the way you have expressed that thought. I need to be listening more attentively.
Thanks, Sandra! 🙂
